A message from our outgoing President, Flo Brooke:
I am incredibly proud of the performance of the club throughout the year but especially this week in Summer VIIIs 2026. We have made BNCBC history with the best aggregate bumps movement ever for Brasenose in Summer VIIIs: our crews went a cumulative +16.
This is the 19th best performance of any college in any year in the history of VIIIs (19th out of ~3500 total entries).
Our Women’s and Men’s first boats both moved up a division establishing their positions in division 2.
Our men’s second boat probably rowed the least distance this week, securing blades with an unwaveringly strong performance throughout the week.
All other crews performed spectacularly and displayed the depth this club has. We qualified 3 boats on each side of the club for the first time since 2003, and every single crew went positive.
It has been an honour to lead the club this year and to witness the fighting spirit in every member of BNCBC that has reaped these incredible results. We are already looking forward to putting the work in next year to continue this trajectory and push our ceilings higher.
I would like to thank the alumni community for your continued support and involvement in the club. You remind us of what Brasenose rowers are capable of and what it means to wear black and gold.
